Today's punk post won't just feature a song, but an entire album. Why? Because Piebald is totally underrated and needs the exposer. Plus their album "We Are The Only Friends That We Have" is an incredible album that deserves to be taken a look at.
The record starts off with "King of the Road", a great introduction song that gives you a humorous update on the band and mourns their former tour bus. "American Hearts" is the biggest hit off the album and rightfully so. It has so much energy and is great to sing along to. I was lucky enough to see the band perform one of their reunion shows at Bamboozle and this has got to be one of the best songs I've ever seen live. "The Monkey Verses the Robot" is my personal favorite. It sticks it to the man and the work force but is also very fun. It just makes you wanna move and sing.
Other greats off the album include "Karate Chops For Everyone But Us", a standard but great punk song that takes a look at band life, "Rich People Can Breed" a spicy one that mixes hard punk with some softer alternative, and "The Stalker" a hand clapping song that will feel right at home with other songs on this blog. However, the point of the post isn't to review every song (though I'd gladly and I've already done half the album) but to focus on the album as a whole. It's one of the most consistant, well put together albums I've heard. It's edgey, its punk, and its personal. The band put a lot of heart into this one and it shows. Below are a few songs off the album but please check out more.
Rock On. Dan.
